In this blog I'm going to make frequent updates on things that are inspiring me to be a better person, and weekly updates of an interview with someone who in my eyes is "Like Unto Moroni".

The Infinite Atonement

Tonight I have been reading in one of my favorite books, Tad R. Callister's The Infinite Atonement.  It beautifully describes the most important event of all of history, Christ's infinite atonement for our sins. (definition of atonement)

"Wherefore, it must needs be an infinite atonement—save it should be an infinite atonement this corruption could not put on incorruption."  2 Nephi 9:7

Elder Callister describes how the nature of the atonement is infinite in a multiplicity of ways.

1.  Infinite in divineness of the Chosen One
2.  Infinite in Power
3.  Infinite in Time
4.  Infinite in Coverage
5.  Infinite in Depth
6.  Infinite in Suffering
7.  Infinite in Love

I wont begin to explain each one of those points, but urge anyone who would like to know more to read chapters 8-15 of the book.  The Savior did suffer an infinite atonement for you and me and everyone.

I know that Jesus Christ, the Living Son of the Living God, did atone for our sins.  It brings me great peace in my life to know that.  I urge everyone along with myself to strive to know the life of the Savior more fully, to come to know Him through the words of the prophets.
